Two years ago I worked in London Euston and I had to get the 0800 train every morning. Nowadays I work near Paddington, but i start at 8am so I now get a train around 7ish.
Today is an exception. I need to be in Manchester by lunchtime so I am back on the old 0800. I forgot how crammed this one gets. I remember how rude everyone is though. Two years ago I quickly realised I would never get a seat on this train. Two years later these queue jumpers and pusher inners (probably a real word…) still haven’t learnt. And they are still standing up, just like me. And as I am sensible enough to not push through I end up by the window with a pleasant breeze, and they end up overheating.
So although sometimes I wish I had an extra hours sleep, starting work at 8 rather than 9 is a great thing as I miss the main rush. I also leave at 4 so I never have to see these London 9 to 5ers. Apart from today of course.
I am new to blogging. But as the title suggests I am at least aware that without content your blog is nothing – obvious really. I am also aware that I have NOT being adding content and therefore by blog is technically nothing by my own ruling.
The reason for such non-content is that I have been away from my usual routine of
driving and being on the train. Due to this I have not seen any annoying or hilarious habits of ‘the public’ and have nothing to report. But I am now back to the ‘norm’ and I am off to a surprising start as ‘the public’ seem to be behaving today. I catch myself thinking that they may have improved as they have read i3me. Then I realise that I do not have any content and they are still reading king blogs instead…
You should never be on a phone on a train. It’s annoying for everyone. It’s just about ok if you talk at a normal level, but let’s face it most don’t, they talk so everyone can hear and care about what they have to say. Today I sat next to someone who seemed convinced it’ll be a Germany Spain final, and that Germany will win – as their at home…. Shame he is totally wrong as it’s in Ukraine and Poland. This proves that being on your mobile on a train should be banned, as the people who tend to do it are embarrassing themselves.
I usually post about people who annoy me, push in front of me or talk on their mobile too loudly whilst on the train. Today is not a moan:
I dropped my phone whilst stepping on the train this morning. As it drops all I can think is @%*# (and a few other dollar signs and upside down exclamation marks). However, I can’t believe my luck as after it bounced on the edge of the platform it somehow bounces backwards and not onto the tracks! I’m amazed, as is everyone else. They all told me how lucky I was and how they couldn’t believe I still had my phone. They didn’t know the half of it – it didn’t even get a scratch.
